Buttercrane: The Winning Team
Buttercrane Shopping Centre has scooped the top marketing award at the Greater Area Newry Business Awards, organised by the Newry Chamber of Commerce and Trade on 28th Sept.
The prestigious event, hosted in the Canal Court, had the largest ever number of entrants and the largest number of categories.
Buttercrane retailer Specsavers won the Best Use of Technology Award; while The Perfume Shop and Specsavers in Buttercrane Shopping Centre were both highly commended for Best Customer Service (Mutiple Retailer).
The business awards are designed to celebrate the best that the local business community has to offer, profiling the exceptionally high standard of business leadership, ambition, entrepreneurship and innovativeness which has become synonymous with this region.
Buttercrane marketing team submitted an entry for the Guinness World Record Breaking Snowman event as part of their Christmas celebrations. Naming Buttercrane as the 'Best Marketing Initiative' winner, the judges cited the significant TV and press coverage, digital reach and community engagement which saw footfall up by 24% on the previous year.
Buttercrane were also proud to sponsor The Outstanding Contribution to Newry Award – presented to Jerome Mullen, Honorary Consulate for Poland.
Centre Manager Peter Murray said he was honoured to make the presentation to such a worthy recipient. “I’ve known Jerome for many years and have always been impressed with his energy and drive, both in businesses and in his ambassadorship of the Polish community. We congratulate him on this special award to mark his significant contribution to the City of Newry.”
