Ski Season Essentials – 23/10/2024

This is your essential guide if your family has booked their first ski holiday or your child is skiing this season with their school.

Sports Direct, Regatta,  Primark and Dunnes Stores and JD Sport will also have fleece and base layers and Trespass, Regatta and Sports Direct will have a selection of snow boots. Skis, ski poles, Ski boots and helmets are available to hire at ski resorts, so no need to buy in advance.

Après Ski

Après ski is a term to describe post ski activities.  Below is list of the main items needed when not on the slopes which are available from a number of retailers including Trespass (ask for 20% off) , Dunnes Stores, Primark, Regatta, Sports Direct or JD Sports..

• Often your thermal ski jacket doubles up for Après Ski but you may wish to pack a puffer if you have adequate weight allowance.
• Warm sweaters and microfleeces – visit Trespass, Dunnes Stores, Primark, Regatta or Sports Direct, JD Sports.
• T-shirts (short sleeve and long sleeve)
• Jeans , Joggers and leggings
• Casual shoes (grip soles) or snow boots
• Phone charger and adapter plug (O2/EE and Three can help advise on roaming rates)
• Toiletries e.g. Toothpaste, toothbrush, hairbrush/comb, sunscreen, hand sanitiser, shampoo, body wash, roll on deodorant - available from Boots/Semi Chem and Superdrug.
• Sunglasses (available from Boots the Opticians and Specsavers)
